A little about me...

Emma Petfield is a ceramic artist based in Hastings, born in Hull. She is currently a member and technician at Neighbourhood Pottery Studio, where her practice centres primarily around throwing with stoneware. She is inspired by natural and coastal beauty, with the occasional nod to her love of all things nerdy.

The need to create is something that has followed her through life, experimenting with different mediums, until she discovered pottery craft in 2021 and took her first course in 2025. For her, sitting down at the wheel is both a necessary meditation and a playground like no other.

A photo of Emma Petfield from the bust upwards, with a green bush blurred in the background. She is white and wearing a black dress with an embroidered dragon, a crescent moon necklace, thin framed metal eye glasses and has red/purple curly hair.

I am currently developing my first collection Seasons.

A year-long project to begin in 2027, charting the shift in how we experience the world around us throughout the year and an exploration of creating with the materials that surround us.
